Sometimes your vehicle is undriveable after an accident and has to be removed from the scene. This is usually done by your insurer’s authorised recovery agent, who’ll also store it safely if needed, then take it to an approved repairer.
The insurer will keep you moving to a safe place and pay for overnight accommodation too, if needed (check your Policy Handbook for more details).
If your vehicle has been recovered by your insurer’s authorised recovery agent, the insurer will contact you to talk about what to do next.
Your vehicle could also be recovered directly by the police if it’s causing an obstruction. If it’s recovered by the police, they should provide you with details of how to collect it which you can pass onto your insurer when they contact you.
If you're still unsure who recovered your vehicle, please contact us on 0330 088 3838 and we’ll do our best to help you locate your vehicle.
