Important information about By Miles.

We're no longer offering quotes for new customers. If you already have a valid quote from us, you can still retrieve it and buy a policy.

If you’re already a By Miles member, don’t worry – your existing insurance policy is still valid and you’re covered until your policy ends. Until then, you’ll be able to get in touch, manage your policy and use our mobile app or web dashboard as normal.

We will continue to offer new renewal quotes to existing customers until 6th January 2026.

What happens if I drive more than the mileage I estimated in my quote?

Our policies are pay-as-you-go, so you can drive as much or as little as you like, with no restrictions or limits. You'll just pay for each mile you've driven at the end of each month at your per-mile rate.

We only ask for an estimate of your annual mileage so we can give you an estimated price for the year, so it makes it a bit easier for you to compare annual insurance prices.To work out your annual estimate, we just add together your quote, like this:
  • Your upfront fixed cost (to cover your car while it's parked - this is the bit you pay to start your policy).
  • Your per-mile rate, multiplied by the number of miles you estimated you'd drive in the year.
