Important information about By Miles.

We're no longer offering quotes for new customers. If you already have a valid quote from us, you can still retrieve it and buy a policy.

If you’re already a By Miles member, don’t worry – your existing insurance policy is still valid and you’re covered until your policy ends. Until then, you’ll be able to get in touch, manage your policy and use our mobile app or web dashboard as normal.

We will continue to offer new renewal quotes to existing customers until 6th January 2026.

Will I be insured before I connect my car to my By Miles account?

If you’ll be recording your miles using your connected car, it’s best to get set up straight away by following the instructions in the app. 

Though this only takes a few moments, we give you 48 hours from the time you purchase your policy to get connected. (But we’ve found that most people prefer to get it done and dusted as soon as they purchase their policy.)

Your insurance will be completely valid as soon as your policy starts, whether you’ve connected or not - and we won't raise your excess or charge you for any extra miles within that 48-hour period.

If you’re not connected 14 days after purchase, your policy may be cancelled.
